My Story

Mostly what I do is tell what I remember about growing up Baptist and being a Baptist minister’s wife as I remember it, interspersed with things that interest me. As time goes on, however, I am seeing a need for some order. Here are the posts that tell who I am and where I came from in the order it all happened. Note that it doesn’t run like a 20 part series on the story of my life. This just gives it some order. Also, as I’m linking, I am noticing how many holes are really there. I will do my best to fill them over the next few weeks/months–however long it takes!

If you’re mostly interested in how it all fell apart, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “The Most Harm, Part One,” which begins the series of posts I wrote on the end of my marriage and time in the ministry.

And for those who have no desire to read anything else I’ve written, here is my story in a tiny nutshell: Born to fundamentalist parents, raised fundamentalist, went to a conservative Baptist school, eschewed fundamentalism for conservative/moderate Christianity, got married to a Baptist minister, Baptist minister orchestrated an event where he invited his friend into the bedroom and instructed his friend to have sex with me, Baptist minister and I separate, I become a liberal Christian, get divorced, and become an atheist.
