So, About That Flaming Sword?

Genesis 3:24 (NIV):
After he drove the man out, he placed on the east sideĀ of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Whatever happened to it?
I thought surely AiG or some other major fundamentalist group has some sort of answer. I couldn’t find anything on the AiG website, which surprised me. In fact, I couldn’t find any theories at all, except for theories about what the sword actually was (and one incredibly bizarre post that mentioned how someone received the sword of God (?!)). No mention of what happened to it. For literalists, this may pose a problem. If there was a literal garden with a literal sword yielded by a cherubim (so much for arrows of love!), where did it go?
I am quite interested in reading the theories I know will pop up!
