Knock, Knock
Friday, October 17th, 2008
This morning at my parents’ house, Julieanne started looking for her Uncle David (my 16-year old brother). He was in his room, so I seized the opportunity to teach her about knocking.
I showed her how to make a fist and bang on the door. “Knock, knock!” I emphasized what we were doing.
She grinned and knocked on the door, excited to find Uncle David in a world previously undiscovered.
A few minutes later, she became distracted by something outside the room. David shut the door behind her as she left. Immediately, she turned around and shouted, “Honk, honk!”
